Dr. Milen Vrabevski

Dr. Milen Vrabevski is one of Bulgaria’s most successful businessmen and innovators. An entrepreneur, investor, philanthropist, and patron of the arts, he is inspired by the motto that the best way to predict the future is to create it. Dr. Vrabevski is the founder, co-owner, and honorary chairman of the board of directors of Comac Medical—the largest clinical research organization in Southeast Europe. The company focuses on the development, management, and monitoring of projects in the field of research and development in clinical medicine, carrying out scientific projects in over 35 countries across Europe, Asia, North, and South America.

The “Tsar Simeon the Great” Educational Complex in Sofia, which includes three kindergartens, an elementary school, a high school, a teacher training center, and a sports center.

He has received hundreds of accolades and dozens of awards for his professional and charitable work.

He is the founder and owner of Intelligent Music Studios—a music production company with a state-of-the-art complex of recording studios. He is the producer and principal composer of the music and lyrics for the rock band Intelligent Music Project, which has released eight studio albums to date featuring international rock stars from bands such as TOTO, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Styx, Uriah Heep, ASIA, Nazareth, and others.

Awards and Achievements

  • In 2009 the Association of Bulgarians in Ukraine honored him with the title “Man of the Year” for his exceptional contribution to strengthening economic and cultural ties between Ukraine and Bulgaria, particularly through his investments in young people of Bulgarian descent in Ukraine.
  • In 2012 Dr. Vrabevski became a member of Clinton Global Initiative at the personal invitation of President Bill Clinton.
  • In 2013 he was awarded the “European Citizen’s Prize”, awarded by the European Parliament.
  • In 2012 he received the “20 Years of the Republic of Gagauzia” medal from the President of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia in the Republic of Moldova Mihai Formuzal for investments in improving relations and supporting the Bulgarian minority in the region.
  • In 2014 he was named “Enlightener of the Year” in the national campaign of the same name.
  • Two-time winner of the “Pythagoras” from the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science for the research activities of Comac Medical in the category “Company with the Largest Investments in Science” (2016 and 2021).
  • In 2016 puts Bulgaria on the map of Horizon 2020 with an innovative project that received a Seal of Excellence from the European Commission.
  • In 2016 he was awarded the title “Apostle of Bulgarian Culture” for his contribution to the preservation and development of cultural and historical heritage.
  • In 2016 he was elected a member of the Public Council of Bulgarian National Radio (BNR). He was re-elected in 2021, when he was also appointed chairman of the council.
  • In 2018 he was a keynote speaker at the meeting of ministers of science, education, and research during the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU.
  • In 2019 his company Comac Medical received the prestigious European Commission award for “Outstanding Achievement in Innovation”, presented personally by the President of Bulgaria for three consecutive nominations in the category “Most Innovative Enterprise of the Year” (2016, 2017, 2018).
  • In 2020 he was named “Man of the Year 2019” for his active patriotic work.
  • That same year, he received an award in the category “Humanism and Philanthropic Investments” at National Medical Awards.
  • In 2020 during an official visit to the Bulgarian minority in Albania, the mayor of the municipality of Pustec awarded him a certificate of recognition for his active work and financial support for the residents of the municipality.
  • In 2021 his company Comac Medical received a special award from the British Embassy in Sofia for the contribution of its employees to the educational project of Bulgarian Memory Foundation – “Path to University”.
  • In 2024 He became a member of the board of trustees of two Bulgarian universities at their invitation: Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov University in Burgas and the N. Y. Vaptsarov Naval Academy in Varna.
  • In 2024 he received an award from the mayor of the Albanian municipality of Pustec, Pali Kolevski, for his significant contribution to the well-being of the municipality’s residents.
  • For four consecutive years, he has been featured in the Bulgarian annual almanac “The Doctors We Trust”.
